RECORD LABEL SPOTLIGHT: RAGING PLANET RECORDS

Rating

Raging Planet RecordsThese guys sent us a random friend request on MySpace, and I decided for once to actually listen to what they had to offer. Holy shit. All four of the songs posted on their page are high-quality METAL. Raging Planet is based in Lisboa, Portugal, so it’ll be a while before any of these bands get to the US… but for now you can listen and be amazed by the great bands they have.

The band Men Eater and More Than a Thousand both remind me of a heavier Jupiter-era Cave In. The production and recording quality on both of these cuts is spectacular. Twenty Inch Burial is a mix of thrash and metalcore as good as it gets, far surpassing anything that bands like Bullet for my Valentine could ever hope to accomplish. CineMuerte is haunting electro-rock with just enough of a tinge of metal; the female singer’s vocals are a real treat. Also be sure to watch The Temple‘s video for “Rock Now, Society Later!” which will knock you on your ass.

This is an exceptional record label with great acts that should have no problem gaining traction throughout Europe, the US, and the world. Check out the Raging Planet Records MySpace page.
