TRIVIUM FANS, DOES ROADRUNNER HAVE A BAND FOR YOU

Scott IanSanctity are the new Trivium. I know that’s not, like, an especially difficult observation to make, but the same way Roadrunner seem to be trying to mold Daath into the new Chimaira/DevilDriver kinda-death-but-not-really band of choice, it seems pretty clear that Sanctity (who the label are hyping like crazy) are supposed to be the new old-school-but-still-kinda-metalcore thrashers that will get the kids all hot n’ bothered. As a matter of fact, except for the lack of clean vocals, this sounds so much like Trivium (before Trivium became a Metallica cover band) that it’s kinda scary… fuck, their album is even produced by Jason Suecof.

Check out the band’s MySpace page to give ’em a listen. I actually dig what’s there (especially “Zeppo”), but, then, I dug the first few Daath song I heard, too, so who the hell knows.

Sanctity’s debut, Road to Bloodshed, comes out April 24. Kind of unbelievably, Andy Sneap and Colin Richardson had nothing to do with it.
