HEY! WE’RE NOT THE ONLY ONES CALLING DAVE MUSTAINE OUT

dave_mustaine_0319.jpgThe UN Dispatch has actually dissected and counter-argued the lyrics to the title track from the latest Megadeth album, United Abominations. Whether or not you concur with author Mark Leon Goldberg’s assessment of the song, you have to admit there’s something funny about the UN actively responding to, y’know, DAVE MUSTAINE. Take this quote from the piece, for example, in which Goldberg discusses Mustaine’s reference in the lyrics to a “Locust King”:

“‘The Locust King’ is drawn from the Book of Revelation, Chapter 9. Mustain’s decision to use apocalyptic literature found in Revelation is quite, uh, revealing. He seems to be sympathetic to a fundamentalist doctrine known as pre-millenialism, in which an anti-Christ is said to rule the world during a period of tribulation before the messiah (Christ) returns. Some modern day pre-millenialist sects believe that the United Nations (or the Secretary General), is either literally the anti-Christ, or is setting the geopolitical conditions in which the anti-Christ will rise. Mustaine seems to believe this lunacy as well.”

    Mustaine was probably short on writing creativity and pulled shit from his ass anyway. Even if he does believe the weird bullshit conspiracy stuff, who cares? You’re a fucking moron if you listen to Megadeth for the lyrics, and even Megadeth fans think Daves a prick. Doesn’t the UN Dispatch have anything better to do?

    Bullshit! The lyrics are one huge reason to listen to Megadeth. Yes, even the least insightful know Mustaine is a prick. And whether you agree or disagree with whatever his philosophy of the moment is, he’s always been stellar at turning a phrase.

    You can say whatever on mustaine songwriting, but the point is that the UN is completely useless when it comes to deal with international crisis. Look at what they done with israel: they are shooting themselves for more than a half of century. Of Course also US aren’t those good guys but at least, they tried to do something good in iraq.
