WE ARE GOING TO SEE TOOL TONIGHT! THERE WILL BE LASERS!

ToolTool, arguably the best living band on the planet, wrap up their U.S. tour tonight and your MetalSucks editors will be there.

Maynard. Video animations. Lateralus. LASERS!! The only part that sucks is that the show is in New Jersey. Just look for the cloud of smoke rising above the seats somewhere on the left side of the pavillion, and that’s where we’ll be. I’ve already seen Tool twice on this album cycle and it’s never enough; Lasers!!! The band still has some European dates scheduled for summer / fall, so our Eruropean readers should make sure to catch them as these will probably be their last shows for a few years.

Oh, did I mention there will be lasers???

PS: Maynard issued an update on his Puscifer side project today.

As Vince knows, I happened to catch both of Tools Michigan dates less than two weeks ago and twice on their last two legs of this cycle. Each time was one of the best shows I have ever scene. This band is nothing short of amazing, and yes, there are lasers. And they are glorious.

I’ve seen this stunning band thrice this album cycle in Chicago. In May ’06 (warmup small venue tour), Fall of ’06 Arena Tour, and a couple of weeks ago. The one a couple of weeks ago is by far the best I’ve ever seen them, and one of the best show i’ve seen …PERIOD.

Prepare yourself….for lasers..for amazing videos on the screen….and for the best drum battle…..EVER.

saw them in Mansfield last week, fantastic. Pushit & Flood in the same set, and the drum battle, killer.

  • Wayne

Holy shit!! You got Pushit AND Flood??? wow.

  • Van Arseface

In Detroit we got Flood, in Grand Rapids the Pot & Right in Two. No Pushit though. A few years back I saw them play No Quarter & Third Eye, so I never bitch about their sets after those!

  • Wayne

In Chicago, we got Flood & the Pot. I have zero gripes about the setlists. Best live band on the planet. No Quarter and Third Eye. Mmmmmmmmmm. Those are very good indeed.

Last night we got Flood, but no The Pot. LASERS!!!!!!!

There’s no arguably about it. I was fortunate enough to catch them last summer at the City Center on 53rd St (56th?), and even though the sound was awful, the show was brilliant as usual.
