SLIPKNOT TAKE PAGE FROM THE METALLICA PLAYBOOK, START PROMOTING AN ALBUM THAT DOESN’T EXIST YET

The new Slipknot album – if there even really is gonna be a new Slipknot album – has a projected release date (not even an official one!) of Spring/Summer 2008, but that’s not stopping drummer Joey Jordison from talking it up already. Just days after giving an interview where he promised that the new album will be “heavy as fuck” (do metal musicians ever promise anything less?), now he’s already talking touring: “We’ll probably start touring a month or so before the album comes out, kind of the same way we did the Jagermeister Tour before Volume 3 came out.”

Sheesh. I think Joey is a terrific drummer, but dude – miss the limelight much? Touring with Korn isn’t enough for you? Someone get this guy something to promote, pronto.
