HELMET RELEASES A NEW SONG

Page HamiltonHelmet have released a new studio track entitled “Revenge Destroys Everything” via their MySpace page. It’s ok. I might even use the phrase “pretty good” to describe it. The interesting thing about Helmet is that they’ve been doing what they do for a long time now with little change; and while this seems to work just fine for some bands (Slayer, Deftones) with Helmet it just seems like they’re hopelessly stuck in 1996. What’s the difference?

    I think the difference is that most of Helmet’s songs were never very good, barring Unsung of course. I saw them last year at CBGB (R.I.P. Blow me), and it was like one long repeatedly hit power chord until Unsung came on and the place evacuated like a full asshole.
