THE COOKIE MONSTER ON COOKIE MONSTER VOCALS

Movie geek gossip site Ain’t It Cool News recently conducted an interview with the legendary Frank Oz – the puppeteer who voiced not only Yoda but such Muppets as Miss Piggy and the Cookie Monster before going on to direct such films as Little Shop of Horrors, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Bowfinger. And, God bless him, the interviewer known as “Capone” slipped in the following metal-related question:

C: Are you aware of the style of hardcore rock singing that is called “Cookie Monster?”

FO: I’ve heard about it! Somebody told me about it about six months ago, and I just cracked up. I haven’t heard it, but those people must hurt their voice as much as I hurt mine.
