THIS WEEK’S SOUNDSCAN NUMBER REVEALED

Friday, August 10th, 2007 at 12:11pm by

Sorry for the lateness on this one, but MetalSucks once again has a reliable source for Soundscan charts (thanks dude, you know who you are) so these will be a regular feature again starting… now. Korn’s untitled record Untitled makes a big splash with its debut, while most everything else is business as usual in the hard rock / metal world (Linkin Suck, Nickelsuck, etc). Click through for chart positions and sales figures.

#2: Korn, Untitled
This week: 123,142 (debut)

Not bad. Hard to see it getting to even gold status with that number, though.

#10: Linkin Park, Minutes to Midnight
This Week: 43,607
Cume: 1,488,317

Jesus fucking H., enough already. When will this madness end?

#14: Nickelback, All the Right Reasons
This Week: 36,210
Cume: 5,706,391

See Linkin Park, above.

#24: White Stripes, Icky Thump
This Week: 24,784
Cume: 499,426

We don’t normally cover these guys, but damn, that is a respectable number for 7 weeks on the chart.

#29: Smashing Pumpkins, Zeitgeist
This Week: 20,491
Cume: 233,469

#48: Devildriver, The Last Kind Words
This Week: 14,270 (debut)

Gee, think the fact that this record was released in Europe over a month ago hurt sales at all? Hmmm…

#49: Velvet Revolver, Libertad
This Week: 14,147
Cume: 182,396

#72: Flyleaf, Flyleaf
This Week: 10,161
Cume: 663,549

#80: Three Days Grace, One-X
This Week: 9,732
Cume: 831,048

#85: Finger 11, Them Vs. You Vs. Me
This Week: 9,329
Cume: 147,265

22 weeks on the chart already and this record is somehow rising two weeks in a row?

#89: Ozzy Osbourne, Black Rain
This Week: 9,022
Cume: 343,652

Pretty sad list. Safe to say the poop charts have nothing of quality, save for QOTSA (at #182!).

I don’t know whose sales are sadder: Manson, VR, or QOTSA. Sheesh.

DevilDriver’s numbers are actually UP from their last album…

  • Porkspam

DevilDriver will never EVER be worth more then pure shit to me. The lead singer was responsible for coal chamber. The band whose hit was called BIG TRUCK. And spoke of said trucks imposing nature. He can yell, moan, groan, growl, or whatever the hell he wants and think he’s underground and against the mainstream. But to me, and probably most anybody with a memory, he will be nothing but a tool.
