WHO HERE REMEMBERS GUANO APES?
Friday, August 10th, 2007 at 1:24pm by Vince NeilsteinWho here remembers Guano Apes? The German hard rock outfit were wildly popular in their homeland in the late ’90s, but that success didn’t translate well on an international level, though their 1999 record Proud Like a God sold over a million copies worldwide. Their 2000 release Don’t Give Me Names was given to me by a German friend in 2004, and I instantly fell in love with the band.
Guano Apes frontwoman Sandra Nasic has returned with her first solo release, a double A-side single with the tracks “The Name of My Baby” and “Fever” set for release in September. Judging by the video for “The Name of My Baby,” Nasic still has both her songwriting ability and performance chops. And of course it helps that she’s still smokin’ hot.

Might be a grower tho, see how the rest of the new stuff turns out I guess.
I really liked GA during their peak (especially notable since I could barely tolerate the rest of the genre they were associated with). They/she had great beyond-nu-metal potential though. I only learned of them through the internet. At least in Texas they were non existent commercially.
