MOVE OVER, MIKE D’ANTONIO – HERE COMES JOHN BAIZLEY

666500233_m.jpgA lot of attention to has been paid as of late of Baroness frontman John Baizley – and not just because Baroness’ latest, The Red Album, rocks (“Red is the new black!” Decibel declared). Baizley is, of course, also the cover artiste du jour – usurper of Mike D’Antonio, the Pushead of his generation, whatever – doing not only Baroness’ graphic but also spreads for recent releases from Pig Destroyer, Darkest Hour, Skeleton Witch, Genghis Tron, and The Red Chord.

Here’s some of Baizley’s most recent work, with which you may already be familiar:

Of course, it’d be a shame if Baizley’s excellent, incredibly distinctive work quickly became too overexposed (a concern Baizley himself expresses in the latest issue of Revolver). For now, though, you gotta admit: dude is some kinda graphic design badass.

Also: he he an awesome beard.

I love this artwork. Plus, the new Baroness album is fucking AMAZING.

This dude is definitely a sick artist but I can’t help but feel like the Pushead influence is a little too blatant. I’m not the only one, am I?

Love his work. Best of success to him!

That being said, the album artwork is way better than the music from the bands he works with.

Anonymous—is that to say Baroness or the non-Baroness bands he works with? Because Baroness rules.
