MEGADAVE GETS MEGA-POLITICAL: NEW MEGADETH VIDEO FOR “NEVER WALK ALONE”

Another pseudo-political video from Dave Mustaine, yadda yadda yadda. Seriously, I love Megadeth’s music, but dude just needs to shut the fuck up sometimes about his political nonsense.

That’s not political nonsense, it’s religious nonsense. Dave’s Christian conversion seems to be sticking, for what it’s worth., And it apparently isn’t worth a good Megadeth tune.

    Classic Egotistical Dave!

Only Dave is allowed to look into the camera, the rest of you get that long hair in your face.

Pshhh, how gives a sh*t. Its HIS music, let him sing about whatever he wants.

It’s deff. an amazing song regardless, though the animation was quite cheap looking…

Um, Mustaine didn’t just get political. His music has *always* had a sharp political bent to it, whether left or right. “Hook in Mouth” was written 20 years ago. “Holy Wars” about 15 years ago.

And this song is more likely about God still taking him in even though he long turned Him away.

I think Mustaine can best be characterized as “lovable asshole”.

    I see two problems here:
    1. Dave is singing about something that makes him happy. That isn’t very metal, and it shows. You might be telling yourself that the riffs are still good, but…
    2. Megadeth are clearly going through the motions. Let me put it to you this way: have the vocals ever been as much in the forefront of the mix or song structure as this current album? Dave didn’t start singing on “holy wars” until after over a full minute of guitars. The songs don’t develop anymore. They are just a random assortment of riffs that Dave sticks together. It could have worked too, just like the last Megdeth album wasn’t “bad”. But this one he decided that he had to get his happy ass message across too. The problem isn’t even the message itself. The problem is “happy” and “metal”. These two items are polar opposites. Actually the last time I bought a Megadeth album my girlfriend commented that he sounded tired, and would probably be making a totally different style of music had Megadeth never existed. Going through the motions, but at least that time he did it with Poland…sigh.

You are right about one thing, Dave needs to shut the fuck up. As in stop fucking singing so much. Megadeth always spoke through the guitar, because we all know Dave can’t really sing so hot anyways.

Political or not that video sucked. So cheesy!

I saw Megadeth a few weeks ago at a 1500 person venue. I would agree that Mustaine seems to be “happy”, or maybe the phrase would be “at peace”. But one thing is for sure, he the rocked The Big Easy Concert House and it was as lively as the previous several times I’ve seen them play. His guitar playing is still stellar and even though his new lead guitarist should ditch the leather pants, he can shred as well. The cool thing was I took my son who is a metal-head in the making and he dug the show as well.

Yeah the animation is bad, but it’s still a good song. And to the guy who said Dave sounded tired, he’s like 47 now right? Keep in mind he isn’t a young kid anymore. All artists mature (or more acuratley, get fucking old). I still think UA was a great album, and God knows it’s gonna’ be better then what Metallica puts out next year.
