GOD DAMN, AT THE DRIVE IN KICKED SOME FUCKING ASS

A recent post over at The Syndicate Blog about Paramore covering At the Drive In’s “One Armed Scissor” reminded us just how much ass the El Paso, TX band kicked before they called it quits and their members went onto such other projects as the Suck Volta (first album excluded — that one was awesome) and Spartsuck. Check out this video The Syndicate posted of ATDI performing “One Armed Scissor” on the Letterman show… holy fucking shit, so much energy. Wish I could go back in time and see this band live.

Love ATDI, love the song, don’t mind Paramore (in the right mood), but hoo boy, that version SUCKED. I’m with you, leather.

I saw these guys at the Bowery Ballroom in 2001, and they were phenomenal….and they blew it when they broke up if you ask me…

Yes, ATDI could rrrrockit (clearly), but the vocals always seemed a little uneven to me….dude’s voice inexplicably jumped up like, 49 notches when The Mars Volta hit the scene with that first full-length….my man now sounds like our generation’s Robert Plant–no small feat (obviously). For the record, the first and last songs off “Frances The Mute” are SWEET.

    Let’s go Mets!

One of my favorite albums. They distroyed the old Ottobar in Baltimore in 2000. Sick!
