CHILDREN OF BODOM DON’T HAVE AN ALBUM, BUT THEY HAVE A RELEASE DATE

Children of Bodom only just entered a studio in their native Finland to record their follow-up to 2005′s excellent Are You Dead Yet?, but their label, Spinefarm Records, has already announced the new album’s release date: April 7, 2008 (so, presumably, April 8, 2008 here in the States – unless they learned nothing from the debacle that was the month-apart release dates for DevilDriver’s The Last Kind Words), with the first single to drop on March 3.

Of course, if something goes wrong, the label can always move the date – but still, announcing the release date so far in advance clearly shows what high hopes Spinefarm have for this album. You don’t do something like this unless you want your album to be a true Event with a capital “E.”

Question is: can the album live up to the hype? Guess we’ll find out in April.

Personally I’m pretty pessimistic about this record. The fact that Bam fucking Margera has decided to put his nose in their work is the main reason why I’m not gonna take the precious time to give that crap a listen.
Cradle of Filth used to be a solid entity with a very distinct sound.I’m not saying I dig ‘em or some shit,I like a few songs off Midian such as ”From The Cradle to Enslave”.The little agressivity and technicality they had in the first era of the band was destroyed by the interventions of Bam.Now they release cheesy shit and tour with CKY.
Bam’s an Mtv guy.He supports mainstream activity. He’s the one behind the whole talk about a release date when nothing’s recorded.
Why the fuck did CoB accept to work with him?
Why can’t anyone just tell the guy to sod off?He doesn’t know shit about metal yet he starts his own label?

I’m sure I’m not the only one wondering what’s up with his presence on this scene.
