CLINT LOWERY DEJA VU: GUITARIST LEAVES KORN MID-TOUR

Dark New Day and Ex-Sevendust member Clint Lowery, who has been collecting cash as serving time as the touring guitarist for Korn all summer and fall, has left the band mid-tour. Sound familiar? Lowery departed Sevendust mid-tour in late 2004 forcing the band to scramble to find a replacement. This time, though, we can’t help but applaud — not only does this add to the continually comical saga of guitarists leaving Korn (will they please die already?), but it means Lowery can get back to what’s important, finishing the new Dark New Day album. Presumably Lowery has been amply compensated for his duties this year and can lay low for a whle while focusing on new music.
According to Lowery’s MySpace, he departed due to a family emergency. “Everything’s fine — just had to get home. Hated to leave. Love all the Korn guys and had a blast with them.”
Whatever, dude. Now let’s all go listen to some Dark New Day and rejoice.

He got tired of playing the same two chords over and over. Which reminds me…I heard a new Static-X song the other day that actually did have an upgrade to TWO chords. It was still downtuned to drop A, down seven steps, but I actually heard a chord change…twice in the same song.
I don’t have any real beef with Static X, but I met them at Ozzfest, and they are Grade A assholes. I’ve never seen a band more indifferent to a fan’s praise in my life. (not my praise, a fan in front of me in line)
damn you guys are so friggin judgemental. Grow up. Korns members are like family and he WASNT one of them. There were other reasons Head left, that had really nothing to do with KORN itself. He had personal issues. So why dont you guys “just go die already?”
KORN4Life, of COURSE we’re judgmental! This is a blog site, and this is a COMMENT page, “comment” coming from “commentary”, which is to give an opinion, which is by definition, biased and casting judgment upon the subject of said opinion.
KORN4Life, your band had put out some REAL BAD discs over the past 5 years. Record sales are steadily and swiftly declining for each new release. For a band with huge expectations, it’s not good. 281,000 to date on the new disc. That’s sad. You’ll NEVER break a million on this one. Virgin Records knew what they were getting into when they signed Korn to only a two record deal. Chances of resigning with Virgin, who probably spent 5 million on promotion & production for this new disc are ZERO.
Also, here’s a quote from our favorite “guitarist” Munky on CURRENT record deals:
“You know, sign the band, give ‘em money to record, put ‘em on the road…I think in the future it’s gonna be more about developing an artist, more than just record sales.”
Awwwwww. How cute he is. Developing an artist. What a cute thing to say. But the last time that happened was like ‘82. And the minute it becomes “more than record sales” is the exact minute the record companies file for bankruptcy. Development means spending with no return on investment and it’s not happening in my lifetime. It’s easier and more importantly cheaper to sign 20 new bands and throw throw them against the wall to see who sticks.
Ok… Look. Im 23 years old and have been a Korn fan since I was 12. Im not gunna sit here and argue and argue because no one will win. You are obviously very closed minded, and yes… very JUDGEMENTAL people. Individuals like what they like and its great that the band I have loved so much continues to change their sound and ignore all the haters like yourselves. Arguing is not going to solve anything here. Korn is a fantastic band that isnt afraid to try new things and thats why i love them. I will agree that “take a look in the mirror”, and “Untouchables” was BY FAR the worst albums they made thus far and I’m not going to sit here and pretend they were great records…I’ll give you that. But really just lighten up and do more homework on them and their older music and maybe you wont be such jerks about it. TTquick…. You sit and hold your breath waiting for munkys record label to go bankrupt. PLEASE.
I’m really not a hater. Just writing the facts. Truth is I own like 5 Korn discs. But it sickens me that they consider the last two releases music. They stole my money and stole my interest in anything they do. I’m all for reinventing yourself and music. Look at U2, fucking Madonna even, Green Day, Aerosmith, and even Zeppelin on “In Through The Out Door”. That’s how you do it. Korn’s completely misguided like Metallica and I’m not having it. Korn members are in and out. If it’s a family why are they all going separate ways. It’s over for them. DONE.
Im not going to argue. I just want to say that YES. They are a family. Everyone from their road crew, body guards and 4 main band members are still together. Even the 5th, (head) all grew up together and played with them since they were 14 years old! Their parents used to drive them to eachothers houses to play in their garages! They babysit eachothers kids now! Dont tell me they arent a family, because thats one thing you’ll lose an argument on.

Never could get into Korn. Unless you’re in Helmet, there’s no reason to use a piccolo snare if you’re the drummer in a hard rock band. What a thin, whispy little drum sound. (not sure how they sound with Bozzio or Joey J. though)

Bless your heart, KORN4Life. This can’t be the only place in your life where you have to defend this band. It must be exhausting. Good thing you’ve got a hot girlfriend and nice, soft non-Star Wars sheets to rest with it.

I just dont get the part, scratched through “collecting cash” as far as im concerned he was way underpaid for dealing with that everyday. I got to see korn twice while clint was with them, the atlanta show family values 2007 far out did the last one i saw in south carolina, which really to me, was one of the most
boring shows i have ever seen. Thought a great deal of Munky and a whole lot of Fieldy, but jonathan, makes such effort to be strange and odd and his nasal tone
started really gettin on my nerves. Korn will be fine! So will Clint and Dark new Day. It’s a huge world out there and there is room for everyone. Why worry!
This is all bullshit. KoRn is a fantastic band. They reached the best ever at Untouchables and Take A Look In The Mirror, and SYOTOS and Untitled sucked because head left. Their 2 guitarists were like 2 wings on a plane. They need a full guitarist not for live shows, but for making songs too. Everyone at my school knows that the last 2 albums were not heavy enough. Not media crap but if u actually look at the stuff people show eachother on their phones they show songs like Break Some Off, Wake Up Hate and other Metal songs. If they got a new guitarist and went metal again then they would break 8 million on that one album.
