TAKE A LEAK: DEMON HUNTER, STORM THE GATES OF HELL

Monday, October 29th, 2007 at 2:29pm by

I haven’t listened to this album, and after hearing the first single, I feel pretty confident I never will; I mean, really, I’d be hard pressed to think of band whose music I care less about.

That being said, every time I make some joke about what a lard ass their drummer is or what a simple-minded yokel their singer is, a few of you get crazy and tell me I must have self-esteem issues – I mean, I do have self-esteem issues, but that’s not why I make fun of Demon Hunter. I make fun of Demon Hunter because they blow goats and like it.

ANYWAY, the band’s latest leaked over the weekend and Don’t Kill the Musica has it. So, for those of you who enjoy this kinda thing, have a nice time with it. Solid State will release the actual physical CD in stores on November 6.

Never been a huge fan of Demon Hunter, but they’ve got a few songs I’ve liked here and there.

Overall I’d say the cd was download worthy…but beyond that, not so much..

Am I right in guessing this is a Christian band? Regardless, I’m unimpressed. The Track “Carry Me Down” should get some serious radio airplay.

Every drum track sounds the same. Just THUD THUD THUD. No creativity.

Well I’m glad you could discuss this maturely. Really.

I admit I mis-read something and read Ryan being fat instead of their drummer…who still isn’t morbidly obese.

Yeesh. So remind me, my dear Axl, how he’s a “yokel”? … that sounds like he’s in a ricola commercial. But yeah.

Whoops. I remember. He has different beliefs than you! What’s worse is he ISN’T forcing his beliefs down your throat but rather created the music for his fans, not for a simpleton who has nothing better to do than create a mental picture of five guys giving goats blow jobs. Is there some underlying Freudian fetish issue at hand?

Anyways, enough about your secret turn-ons. Next time you rate bands, rate them on their musical talent, not their beliefs. It’s pretty silly when you say that you don’t like someone because they disagree. I mean, seriously, that’s 3rd grade level stuff there. ;)

I have been a faithful Pagan for the last 22 years, but feel religion can be shared among the faiths, just as music can be also. I normally don’t accept invites from Myspace bands, but I did with Demon Hunter, and I love the group. There should be many MORE Christian groups like them, P.O.D., Creed, etc. The message is positive, and delivered with a hell of a punch. I knew what it was the minute I listened to “Undying”. That’s probably my favorite song by them so far. I hope to hear many more like it. All groups have a message. This is one is just really positive and I look up to bands who make their faith part of their music. Well, not in Kanye’s case, but he’s just crazy. Long live Demon Hunter.
