Murder by Death may rival …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead for most metal name for a non-metal band.

Although songs about whiskey, the devil, and death and misery are fairly metal themes, so maybe they are kinda metal.

    Good band, either way.

  • Ryd1ZZ

Dirty Bastards! I want to see At All Cost so bad.

AAC, COME BACK TO SAN DIEGO, PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • PaulNoize

So….what would you call …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Fink?

A jazz band? R&B? Gospel, perhaps? Bluegrass?

    Sigh.

  • Fink

What would I call them? Honestly, I’m not really sure; I’ve only heard them for maybe a minute or two a handful of times. I wasn’t the one who originally said …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead had the most metal name for a non-metal band, either. I was merely playing off something that had been mentioned here before (right? I can’t point to where I got it from, but I didn’t just totally make that up…. did I?)

Anyway, I personally still don’t believe …And You Will Know Us… could qualify as ‘metal’ (I’m listening right now, actually)… but if you think so, well, alright then. What I don’t understand is the mockery and the exasperated sigh though; its unnecessarily insulting and sort of tries to make me look like I have no idea what I’m talking about. Not freaking out here or anything… again, just a bit insulted. And at work, bored.

Behemoth and Job For a Cowboy will be at Irving Plaza on Nov 18.

That Witchcraft / Baroness gig is gonna be awesome, especially since it starts after midnight! “It’s better after dark.”

The Sword and Black Cobra will rock Bowery too. For serious.
