THIS VAN HALEN SONG IS TOTALLY AWESOME, EXCEPT THAT…

VH guitar…well, to be perfectly honest it seems like EVH is about to shred somethin’ wicked right at the end of the track “Mean Street”, when he falls victim to a 35+ second fade-out! My man sounds like he’s just steppin’ up to the plate and about to rip a solo that’ll really set the album Fair Warning (1981) right into gear, but for some reason the choice was made to fade out whatever magic Wolfgang’s poppy laid down onto tape.

Isn’t that sacrilege?

Anyhow, enjoy this lowdown, drty opening track from Fair Warning (plus the all-time classic anthem to teacher-bangin’), and check out Axl’s masturbatory review of Tuesday night’s VH show at the Garden…

The fade-out on songs during the ’70s and ’80s was just a bad idea to begin with. To fade out an EVH shredfest is just plain wrong.
