IRON MAIDEN JETLINER GETTING READY FOR WORLD VOYAGE

Iron Maiden

As reported here on MetalSucks on September 6, Iron Maiden will be embarking on a world tour in 2008 in which the band will fly themselves, the crew, and over 12 tons of equipment on a custom-outfitted Boeing 757 (pictured above) — piloted by none other than the band’s legendary singer Bruce Dickinson! Dickinson, who is a credited commercial airline pilot for Astraeus Airlines and pilots flights when the band isn’t touring, will log 60,000 on the first leg of the tour which will cover 5 continents and 20 cities.

Rumor has it that the plane will first take off at 2 minutes to midnight. Ok, so kill me, that was a terrible pun… I’m feeling lazy today.

Does anyone else think this is a bad idea? This could be a huge disaster.

  • Sammy

TT, Dickinson’s been a pilot for many years now and is a commercial pilot as his other profession.

no, you had to say it, terrible though it was. It is like not making that joke about the fat person at the all you can eat buffet.

Are they coming to the States? After their last disaster of a tour, I’m surprised there’s a market for them anymore…

Speaking of bad puns……when does it embark on its “Maiden Voyage?”

  • Wayne

I can’t fucking wait for this show. If it doesn’t come to the States, I’ll have to go to Download or Wacken or somewhere where they are.

  • Sammy

I think I heard the tour hits only the NY and LA markets in the States.

  • Wayne

Then to NY or LA I go.
