HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE END?

Thursday, November 29th, 2007 at 10:36am by Axl Rosenberg

I know plenty of intelligent people who think The End are a great band that put out a brilliant album, Elementary, earlier this year; I also know plenty of intelligent people who think they’re derivative Tool wanna-bes (apparently they aped Dillinger Escape Plan a lot on earlier albums, but I don’t hear it so much on this one).

So where do you fine men and women stand? If you’re not familiar with the band, here’s the video for their most recent single, “Throwing Stones.”

    They suck.

  2. Sammy says:

This song doesn’t suck. Not a Tool wannabe by any stretch either. Video does suck though.

  3. Sheila Nemesis says:

Not a Tool wannabe… rather than A Perfect Circle one, pfft. Come on guys, this song is a complete “Judith” rip-off.

    Next, please.

  4. Aaron Cooper says:

    I second “They suck!”

  5. Bladel says:

    Women come here?!

  6. First time hearing them.

It’s pretty simple, really. They sound a good deal like Tool (at least on this particular song) but not as good. I guess if you are an uber-Tool fan this stuff might augment your iPod a bit… Then again, if you are an uber-Tool fan you might just hate them.

got the album. spinned it once, thought “ok, but not impressed”. spinned a couple times more and – no effect. they may be good musicians – I just couldn’t find a reason to know it better. too old. not a Tool wannabe though. just generic.

these guys sold out SO BAD. check out anything from their album “Within Dividia” and you’ll know what I mean. their new singer sucks shit, and so does the rest of the band for forsaking their chaotic, sophisticated, technical ways. they’re just another victim of the pop-metal virus.

  9. Hegster90 says:

Yea i agree the dude is so clearly TRYING to sound like MAynard with a hint of metalcore. The song’s not that bad…it’s just not that memorable…

I think Sheila is the new Sammy

  11. Sheila Nemesis says:

I think Sheila is the new black

  12. I will be the oddity here, I’m a big fan of this album as well as they’re earlier shit, i got no problem with a band changing here and there, as long as they put out quality shit. However this track is not my fave, seek out Animals or in distress. Yes this album sticks out like a sore thumb amidst my collection, but i spin regardless.
