Listen to "Black Bubblegum" again. It may sound poppy, but it's fucking ANGRY.

There are so many great textures on this record.

Ok, i think the whole "sold out" argument is entirely "played out" because people who make that argument generally don't take enough factors into account before making accusations. That being said, DEP didn't sell out; however, there is absolutely no arguing that their newer music is not nearly as difficult to replicate (musicianship wise) and also, much easier on the ears for an average person. Did they want to make music that would make them more money or were they just tired of making music that requires them to be machines 100% of the time and not enjoy any flow and jam? People must remember that these musicians have to play their own music, and maybe they just wanted to make stuff that was more fun to play.

I'm a fan of Calculating Infinity, and generally give Dillinger a fair spin. And I actually LOVED FNM's Angel Dust back when it came out, unlike a lot of people. I hear a lotta Patton-copping on Ire Works, but it hardly compares to the genius of FNM at their best. Which was basically Angel Dust.

I love Ire Works, then again, I love FNM. I also think it's really funny how people keep saying Dillinger sold out. How can a band so awesomely weird be selling out?

You've got to be kidding me...

re: "Milk Lizard" - are we listening to the same song? I hear whining. I hear boooooooooooring guitarwork (barely). I hear My Chemical Romance??? I don't hear anything remotely close to metal.

This album was probably one of the quickest albums removed from my library this year. At least their previous effort lasted a few spins before getting it got tiresome.

Hands down one of the best live shows I have ever seen was DEP opening up for the (International) Noise Conspiracy in Brooklyn.

It was one of their first shows with Greg, and they ripped it up. Unreal
