METALSUCKS “BEST ALBUMS OF 2007″ RACE HEATS UP

Monday, December 3rd, 2007 at 12:44pm by

As the year 2007 winds down we’ll be rolling out some year end features, among them our Top 10 lists and our very own Awards, “The Suckies,” in which you, our loyal readers, will get to vote. You guys are in for a real treat with that one. But starting next week, we’ll roll out our Top 10 lists — Vince and Axl will cover their favorite releases of ’07 while Kip Wingerschmidt will do his with a Kipian twist, the “Top 10 Favorite Albums I discovered in ’07.”

What are your favorite releases of 2007? Make sure we haven’t forgotten anything in our pool of nominees. After the jump, a full list in no particular order, as best as we could compile, of all major metal releases to hit the shelves in 2007.

I liked the new Every Time I Die album. Also, I know its not metal, but if you can put finger eleven and chevelle on here, why not include Circa Survive (despite the ludicrously high pitched voice, they make great music).

reading this compilation of band’s vying for best album of the year, I realize how ridiculous metal band names are. I mean, ok Pig Destroyer, Goatwhore, Cattle decapitation–I get it, slandering the good name of cattle is cool…BUT “Vaginaville – Skull Fuck To The Future”…is this really a band? IF so, is it a place? Cuz frankly, Id love to go to Vaginaville anytime soon.

I’m not sure if either of these albums came out in 2007, but I think they did. I’d like to nominate In This Moment and 3 Inches of Blood. Thanks

  • Matt

Maybe it’s not a “metal” album, but Spoiler NYC’s debut “Grease Fire in Hell’s Kitchen” was pretty good. Don’t know if you guy’s checked it out.

BIG BUSINESS – HERE COME THE WATERWORKS!!!!!

  • NuMallCore Pwns YoMama

I already added it, but I have to add another vote for BTBAM’s Colors album. That first song is sick. I love the build up, from a gentle piano to the intense outro. In less than three minutes.

  • NuMallCore Pwns YoMama

Also, not a metal album, but Rush’s Snakes & Arrows is a great album.

  • Nath
