You guys LOVE arguing about Bullet For My Valentine as much as you do about Avenged Sevenfold, maybe even more so. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Bullet For My Valentine are certainly poised for a big 2008 with their new album Scream, Aim, Fire due January 29 on Trustkill, and we’ve got the second of two tracks to hit the ‘net so you can judge for yourself.
ZME Music has the new Bullet for My Valentine song “Eye of the Storm” — actually the b-side on the “Scream, Aim, Fire” single — posted for your listening pleasure via a fake YouTube video, which we’ve conveniently reposted for you below. The track is available for free, legit download from metal culture co-opting kings Hot Topic; but we’re too lazy to register.
Sounds like more of the same regurgitated thrash filtered through generic metalcore to me.

I love metal but I would be lying if I said I didn’t mostly listen to more hard rock/ progressive bands. Grew up on the more classic metal so in today’s day and age I thought the poision was a really refreshing album as far as pulling out technical riffs with good breakdowns and great clean singing. Both there new songs though seem so dull to me and the lyrics are awful. The choruses don’t have a whole lot to them as far as remaining memorable or leaving a lasting impression.

Anyway, this song is better than Scream Aim Fire, and worse than pretty much the band’s entire first album.
And they still suck ass live.

Oh dear God, how can you call this “…more of the same regurgitated thrash filtered through generic metalcore…”, but stick up so vehemently for Avenged Sevenfold? I’m a big fan of this site and all, but I think Bullet for my Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold are really just 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Both require a lot of eyeliner, a lot of baseless, mall-approved aggression, and a whole lot of music many other bands have made before and much better.
