I couldn't give a rats ass about whatever the scene has to offer today. Also, I remember when Tool came out (I was in Jr. High), I thought they were boring and lame then, and i still feel the same way now. as for popular bands being better because they are popular... are you kidding me with this shit? BTBAM, LOG, etc. Will never have half the talent of Exodus or Candlemass. Think I'm just anti-mainstream? I'm a huge fan of Andrew WK, and The Darkness. as for the bands in Kips' list... (i'm rambing now) I think Early Man is good, but their credibility is questionable, as with another band who rule under dubious circumstances: The Sword. I want to believe these bands are true, but it all seems like a put-on. I think this site does a good job of judging music based on, THE MUSIC. Thats why Kip most likely listens and enjoys many of the bands you mentioned, yet makes a top 7 concert list w/ more mainstream metal bands that just tear it up live. Get over it. In addition, I'm not a metalhead's metalhead. I love metal, i play metal, i think im sincere about it, but I also like some music that people find cheesy bcuz thats just who i am. that being said, I still hate A7x and BFMV....yet i like atreyu. so whatever. You prolly think im a nerd too for liking mainstream bands. Here's a hint: many metal bands are more popular than others bcuz they are really good. At least...some of them (like LOG and BTBAM, for example).
