LOVE/HATE ARE IN SOILWORK’S “DESERT ISLAND 5″ ALBUMS

In the first edition of the Nuclear Blast Video Cast, Swedish metal kings Soilwork answer interview questions, among them “Name five albums that you can’t stop spinning.”After Bjorn Strid sites two predictable staples (Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All, and Iron Maiden’s Number of the Beast, natch), without any hesitation Strid names Love/Hate’s Blackout in the Red Room, and then goes right back to Dissection and Testament like he didn’t just say… Love/Hate! We knew Soilwork’s sense of melody came from somewhere. Here’s the video for the title track from Strid’s 3rd favorite album.

I’ve always found European bands more interesting than American bands to talk to bcuz similar to language barrier, there is a music cultural barrier. Like, Soilwork prolly doesnt even understand that Love/Hate is NOT COOL. We find it funny that they would sandwich that band b/t Metallica, Maiden, and Testament…but its like completely normal to them. Ha, I love it.
