TICKING DOWN TO VELVET REVOLVER’S DEMISE

So can we get a pool going about when this band is gonna officially break up? Do we think they’ll even make it to a third album? Just a day after Scott Weiland announced that a Stone Temple Pilots reunion is imminent, he was a no-show for the band’s gig at the Sundance Film Festival. That’s right: Weiland missed a show where there would be actual Hollywood movers and shakers present. So this must be, like, totally serious.

Anyway, apparently Weiland’s absence caught the band a little off-guard, too, since they were asking anyone in the crowd if they wanted to get up and sing, and even resorted to letting Matt Sorum – yes, their fucking drummer – handle vocal duties on “Patience” (watch a clip below). Allegedly Harvey Weinstein was so upset he couldn’t even finish his third lobster.

fuck you axl the only reason i ever want to hear vr is breaking up is for a gnr reunion and since thats not happening in this lifetime i hope vr goes on for another long ass time and for the record there have been rumors about them breaking up since they started

That latest VR album has not sold well.

The latest VR album hasn’t sold because it is a piece of shit record. Lack of good guitar solos? Check. Lame lyrics (Roll over right/Keep it through the night/Right right/Keep it though the night)? Check again. Oh yeah, and a lead singer who thinks he is on par with Mick Jagger when he’s more on par with Paris Hilton (both in singing skill and man-fucking)? Check.

I hope the next one is better then this one but I’m not counting on it. Hopefully Scott leaves VR and the old GN’R gang will record with a new singer who has a (non surgically attached) pair of balls.

Damn, I hate when this happens. I thought that at this level this kind of things doesn’t happen anymore. Look, mom, I am a star now, I can do whatever I like!

  • Jethro

Yeah Matt…I’m saying I don’t like Scott Weiland lol. He was great in STP and for the first VR record, but this one blows, and who had the majority of songwriting power? Scott Weiland.

  • T-Lee’s small

Yeah, I did Scott…he’s smaller then I am.

What is sad is that Scott W. once was a phenomenal singer and stage presence. I saw STP in Austin, TX back in 2001 and Scott was still rocking. What a difference a few years makes. I saw VR in Phoenix, AZ a couple of months ago and Scott was pathetic. No longer strung out, but just so burned out that it is sad to watch. Then last week, STP debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Scott was barely alive on stage. He was almost just mouthing lyrics as you would if you were rehearsing a school paper out loud. Moral of the story: Hard drugs fuck you up and heroin kills careers if not you first.
