HOCKEY IS THE MOST METAL OF SPORTS

Despite what I often have to say about the Metal Mets, I was reminded recently by an interview with Mastodon’s Brann Dailor that hockey, that bastard-child of American sports, is without a doubt the most metal professional sport. Ice. Metal. Giant sticks. Dudes beating the living shit out of each other. What more do you need? With that in mind, here’s a bunch of videos culled from a quick trawl of YouTube featuring pro hockey players beating the piss out of each other set to metal songs. Enjoy.

Lacrosse beats hockey. 6 foot titanium poles – nuff said. Plus, a plethora of inherent dick jokes, what with the terms “head,” “shaft,” and “balls” constantly being thrown around. And we all know dick jokes are the most metal jokes of all.

I do have to give it to hockey though, it’s another brutal sport. It’s kinda like lacrosse’s cold, frozen, Canadian cousin.

What about the Mayan “Ball Game?” The losing team’s leader was killed. Now if only we could pit Payton Manning against Eli. Its a win-win!!!!

Anyone remember the Band Grimlock? They did a song in salute to Bobby Probert. “24 the number 24 the Champion”
