NEW ENGLAND METAL & HARDCORE FEST UNVEILS PRETTY MUCH THE BEST LINEUP EVER
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at 3:48pm by Vince Neilstein
Forget Ozzfest, Forget the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour; the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival is the place to be this summer. The special 3-day lineup celebrating the festival’s 10th anniversary is so awesome and all-inclusive that, if you can make it, there’s no reason to go to anything else. In the typically festival-deprived U.S., it’s a breath of fresh air and rival to the mammoth European festival market.
As reported by Metal Injection, the fest will be merging with Gigantour for one-night, as the Friday night portion of the show will feature Megadeth, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Job For A Cowboy and High on Fire. Saturday’s lineup will be headlined by Dimmu Borgir, Shadows Fall and Behemoth. Sunday will feature Ministry, Meshuggah and Nevermore. And those are just the headliners; take a look at the rest of the bands expected to play throughout the weekend:
The Dillinger Escape Plan, Overkill, A Life Once Lost, God Forbid, Disfear, Hate Eternal, Municipal Waste, Shai Halud, Soilent Green, Skeletonwitch, The Acacia Strain, Vital Remains, After the Burial, Animosity, As Blood Runs Black, Belay My Last, Born of Osiris, Briandrill, Classic Struggle, Cockpunch!, Cold World, Dead to Fall, Demiricous, Eluveitie, Elysia, Embrace the End, Emmure, The End, Ensiferum, First Blood, From a Second Story Window, Full Blown Chaos, The Ghost Inside, Hemlock, Impending Doom, Keep Of Kalessin, Kid Deposit Triumph, Ligeia, Mensrea, Monstrosity, On Broken Wings, Recon, Red I Flight, Rhinoceros, Shipwreck a.d., Since the Blood, Sleeping Giant, Sons of Azrael, Stick to Your Guns, Stray from the Path, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganze, Trap Them, Turisas, Tyr, Unexpect, Unholy, Vanna, Veil of Maya, Waking the Cadaver, Winds of Plague, Withered, and Xtyrantx.
WOAH! The event will take place from April 25 to 27 at the Palladium in Worcester, MA. The cost is $47.50 for Friday, $45 for Saturday, $45 for Sunday, or the very affordable price of $129 for a three-day pass.

well if i pass out all of saturday that would make for a pretty good weekend.
Being from DC, I was planning on seeing Gigantour on Saturday, Dimmu/Behemoth on Sunday, and Paganfest on Monday. I might just go to Massachusettes for 3 days instead. That is an insanely good line-up of bands.
I might hit up that Friday date :)
This is just motherfucking great i’m so fucking gonna get there
Just the chance to see Cockpunch! (is it with the “!” or not?, either way is great!) is worth the ticket price.
Holy shitballs, that’s a good lineup!
Its pretty hard to go wrong when you create a festival called “New England Metal and Hardcore Festival”, you make it for 3 days, and you invite 50 bands.
That being said, although there are several bands that I am really excited to see (meshuggah is a must), overall I don’t find this lineup to be much better than any other years (most likely because of my lack of excitement for any of the headliners with the exception of the aforementioned messhuggah). Maybe i’m just a huge loser for not liking those bands that much, but so be it.
I got $5 saying Dave pulls out due to ’satanic’ bands playing at the fest.
This festival is terrible. There are good bands playing, and it’s a fun time…but the planning and organization of the whole things makes you feel like you are attending a huge scam. Every band playing this festival would have played the palladium anyways. They just book them all on the same days. Any real festival goes out of its way too book somehting speacial, some reason to go.
But no, instead of seeing the Paganfest tour on it’s own or what ever where Ensiferum might of had an hour + to play, you are forced with their half hour set amongst a whole bunch of run of the mill metal core acts you have seen five more times then you have ever of wanted to.
My complaints, as a resident of New England and a five time attendee of this festival.

New England Death Fest is where it’s going to be!!!
I love music foolishly, and I always do the possible to attend all the major events if I only have some extra time. The Rockstar Mayhem is a new touring metal and rock music festival to take place this summer. I won’t miss my chance to attend especially after I’ve been recommended a site where to compare ticket prices for free. This way I could look for the cheapest tickets.
