AEROSMITH-ONLY EDITION OF GUITAR HERO COMING

CHUD reports that a new version of Guitar Hero, featuring Aerosmith songs exclusively (or at least almost exclusively – a couple of songs by other bands may or may not be included) will hit stores later this year. The game will start with Aerosmith’s fist ever gig and take you all the way through their career to today… which means you’ll be able to stop playing around the time you get to the Get a Grip-era (a.k.a. the time most people realized the band had lost all their talent, if they had not already realized that earlier).

As a promotional tool for the game, those of you who already own GHIII will be able to download “Dream On” for free from February 16-18. Actually, that really might be the only song you need, thereby negating any desire to fork over sixty bucks for the whole game.

I might be much excited if that photo didn’t have the Nine Lives pussy in it.

    Ugh. Fuck them. Hands down one of the most overrated bands of all time.

    I’ll give you the great material they released early in the career. But I don’t think one post-1980 song has been good by these guys.

    Wow they didn’t take that long to jump the shark with this game. I didn’t think i’d get sick of guitar hero for a long time, but here they’ve gone and done it…

    After Permanent vacation (their first cd of many since, where other people wrote for them) aerosmith ceased to exist

    I mean shit, Metallica is kinda universally loathed now but an all metallica guitar hero would have been a hell of a lot better and more interesting. And if they do this game timeline wise, are their new songs even that complicated? (seriously I don’t know I haven’t listened to them since i was like 7)

    Wow…this had better be some horrible joke. Why not base it around Slayer instead? That way they could package the game with bald caps and stick on beards, and everyone could pretend to be Kerry King.

    honestly what are the marketing guys thinking? how many people in the world do they think there are that would buy this? most guitar hero players aren’t even that big on aerosmith and i doubt that many aerosmith fans would get the sudden urge to become guitar hero addicts when this game comes out.

    and its not like they don’t have a past experience to base this on. rocks the 80s was a flop, why would they think an all aerosmith game would do any better?!?! are they just getting loads of money thrown at them to make this?!?!

    you’d at least think they’d do like a cassic rock game that involved aerosmith, that would be a huge hit! but no….man this is so dissapointing. i’m not a huge player of the game, but just the sheer stupidity of this move hurts.

I wonder if it emulates the era where you get to run around doing enough cocaine to kill the WWF and impregnate Bebe with Liv Tyler and be so high you don’t know about it for 16 or so years..and then shoot a video where you creepily stalk & flirt with her in her own house in the middle of the day….or maybe a male-chest implant simulator bonus round…Or a hot-sauce recipe creation show-down…

    Apparently there’s still going to be a Guitar Hero 4, this is just a side game they’re also releasing. Like Rocks the 80′s.
