And so it begins. Everyone’s favorite punching bag, Disturbed, have a new album Indestructible due in May via Reprise / Warner Bros. The band has a sample of the new song “Perfect Insanity” up on their MySpace page. Singer David Draiman has been quoted as saying he is a proponent of releasing music digital-only. Mazel tov! All those Sunday school classes and Bar Mitzvahs sure taught you well.
So as the Disturbed media machine begins churning, we have to get one very important detail out of the way: what are we going to call this band? Dissucked? Suckturbed? Other?
Let the bashing commence.

i liked some stuff on their last album, which prompted me to check out The Sickness…which was awful aside from the title track. still, i don’t know hwy they get so much hate.

still though, this isn’t a new song. its one of their first, and it just didn’t make the cut for the first album. its more or less a leftover.
I remember seeing them around Chicago in ‘99 or so and it was cool and new. Even back then, it seemed like the guitars were sampled live, but whatever.
Their first show on the second stage at Ozzfest was huge. For the most part, that entire year they rocked. Draiman shut the fuck up, didn’t dance like a homo, and things were fine.
Second album – the ego kicked in, and the creativity died. What worked on the first album sounded dated a year later and even though I enjoyed the first album, I have no idea how this band has survived.
@TJ, you ask why a band you don’t consider “metal” is even mentioned on this site? Like Black Crowes, a derivative, ’70s throwback band is? Or anything save for two songs from Mike Patton? Or Sponge? Filter? The butt rock bands?
Because Axl and Vince know it will bring out the hate.

Honestly. I’d take these guys over the Pop Infused Avenged Sevenfold. Not that I hold a particular taste for Disturbed, though they throw quite a nice show for such poor music.

Mike Patton’s poop sounds better than Disturbed. I think thats an actual song from his solo 4-track all vocal record. Or am I thinking about the one about hamsters fucking? Anyway, once again, (sorry Sammy) Disturbed suck.

I’m still a little excited to hear the new album. There’s always a few songs from each one that I enjoy.
