Thank you for posting those lyrics. As it had been said, the song was used during interrogations and not for torture. I am 31 years old with three children, 4, 3,& 1 yrs. old. We are a metal family. My four year old loves slayer and thinks the highest of kerry king. My whole family loves this music and I am taking my wife and four year old to a Slayer show on june 22nd 2009. My own 4 year old knows that this is entirely music and is created by the hardest working musicians out there. We teach him as well as our other 2 that it is a community of very nice people with awesome music and a message. How people take those messages is their own deal, but we teach them that the messages are based upon the way that the world is. Metal bands aren’t calling war cool, they’re letting us know what’s really happening and encouraging fans in their own little way to make some fucking changes. Glenn Benton is no different by executing his rights to freedom of speach. The one last freedom that we actually have…For now. If you want to call metal music evil or satanic then so be it, but you are a fool, a tool, and a load of stool, you fucking retarded simple minded fuck. Get a life and quit labeling others. So as far as I’m concerned, and I don’t give a damn who disagrees because I’ve read a lot of bull shit blogs from people who don’t know shit, but the bible’s out, long and lost are any of the messages. prayer does nothing for any one, it’s proven daily. Deicide is fucking badass and that is the whole point of death metal. Wigger faggot Eminem is the ones who should be pissed, your music must fucking suck if you play rap and they use that to torture people. Deicide’s music is so fucking brutal and demonic as they intended to be that it used for torture. For some one that plays death metal that is a million times better that winning a music award.

You don’t need a seriously dark vein to listen to death metal, it’s awesome stuff. I think its great Deicide and other metal bands are being used to “torture” the prisoners. This isnt even torture, it kind of is a laughing matter that you guys are taking it so seriously, oh boo hoo human rights my ass.

@ Ian: The press release specifically says that the songs are “strategically used on military prisoners” and makes mention of “sleep deprivation and interrogation disorientation.” So, no, it isn’t just being listened to the guys inflicting the torture.

if he wasn’t proud of it, and yet sings songs about cutting the head of Jesus and murdering Christians wouldn’t that basically make him and Deicide the biggest poseurs on the face of the planet? Answer: yes.

Seriously, folks, it’s fucking Death Metal, if you don’t have a seriously dark streak running through your veins you are just going through the motions for shock value to piss your mom off while you try to score skunkweed to smoke in the basement and not really connecting with the music. Torturing people shouldn’t made you break out the petuli oil and shitty carboard signs in protest. It should merely make you laugh at the folly of man at worst.

P.S. where was torture ever mentioned in this article? Interrogation doesn’t = torture. Military prisons don’t have the same ‘crule and unusual’ standards civilian prisons have.

Being actually proud of it is another.
Actually, sending out a press release to express such, pretty unbelievable.
