MUNKY ANNOUNCES THE FORMATION OF A SUPERGROUP, AND ANOTHER MEMBER OF FAITH NO MORE DISAPPOINTS US

When Munky bailed on Korn mid-tour earlier this year, we said what most people were already thinking: the dude is done with the band. But at least one reader, the eloquently named “DISTURBED4LIFE,” disagreed, throwing it in our face that Munky had, indeed, re-joined the band later in the tour:
“hes still in the band.. next time get your info right.”
So, yes, I suppose that Munky is still technically in Korn. But Jonathan Davis is doing a solo tour this summer and Munky has announced the formation of a new supergroup, Fear and the Nervous System, so you tell me if these guys still like one another.
ANYWAY, Munky’s new band will feature the guitar player pairing no one was waiting for in Munky and Wes Borland*, and will also include Bad Religion’s Brooks Wackerman on the drums and, on the bass… BILLY FUCKING GOULD.
I can only imagine that Gould felt that his former Faith No More band mate Mike Bordin had paved the way for him to work with such a shitty band when he briefly played drums for Korn a few years back. And, hey, Billy, why not make some good money off of a musician who’s made a fortune stealing your shit? You deserve it, right?
And to think: up ’til now, we thought Jim Martin growing pumpkins was the stupidest post-FNM career possible.
Here’s videos for two of my favorite Gould-centric FNM tracks, “We Care A Lot” (Chuck Mosely is the hizzee!) and “Falling to Pieces.” Dig that same reflective floor and cloudy sky that the band used in the “Epic” video!

*Members of Korn and Limp Bizkit playing together at last! It’s like the dudes from Poison and the dudes from Cinderella in one great package! I mean, Munky & Borland has to be like the anti-King & Hanneman, right?

I don’t know why you find this suprising. Billy Gould is probably excited about this. Jim Martin is one of the only celeb musicians with class. I wish more celeb musicians would quit dragging down the genre and retire. Hammett, Mustaine, Hetfield, Ian, how about giving it a rest and opening a nice coffee shop.
you guys forgot to put Brooks Wackerman’s main credit in the parentheses = he was in BAD 4 GOOD!
Maybe like King and Hanneman if they were missing a few chromosomes.
this is a disgrace for all members involved… except wes borland who should be shot
Long live the one-note chord!
…in the one-chord song!!!!
Ah, visual proof that Chuck Mosely was WAY better than Mike Patton!!
I’m kind of excited. Sorry.
It’s gotta be better than the Cold/Limp Bizkit combo of Scooter Ward’s horrendous November band.
I always used to wonder if it made Mike Patton throw up a little to read that Mr. Bungle was one of Korn’s supposed biggest influences.
I was going to say something hyperbolic and sarcastic about how great of a guitarist Wes Borland is, but the words rang cold and I think even trying to talk up that waste of douche stole some of my soul. Anyone else have that going on?
Well is guess Brujeria needs a new bassist now…
Why settle for the lesser Gould?
what the hell is with the four horses outside of my house and the 7 trumpets blaring? Weird.
Oh it’s these douchebags (Munky & Borland) teaming up to bring on the apocalypse? Got it.
We’re being awfully generous with the term “supergroup”, aren’ t we?

For an update on Chuck Mosley, check out http://www.chuckmosley.com. He’s releasing an album this summer on Reversed Image Unlimited. To hear a new track off the album, visit Chuck on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/chuckmosleyvua. I find it to be great timing, that Chuck’s album will be released around the same time as the FNM reunion…
