seriously? i came across this website called MetalSucks and i thought, well, i don’t hate or love metal. i just like Disturbed as the band. come on, guys. i am growing up in a Christian household, i wear glasses, i get straight As AND i’m a girl. and i still love them to death. OPEN YOUR HORIZONS!!!! well i can’t really talk, i HATE jazz…. but anyway. give at least Disturbed a chance. while you’re on, look up Warship or Where’s Your Leash by Warship. it’s really good but SUPER HEAVY. :-P

I’d have to agree with “VoiceOfReason” (dumbass alias, btw). I’m sure some of you listen to stuff like Job For a Cowboy or Bring Me the Horizon?
To me such things sound like a dentist drill running while some dude is scratching a chalkboard with a cheese grater and screaming at different pitches.
The solution? I don’t listen to it. Brutally criticizing it on some badly-made web site isn’t going to do anything.

For those who have nothing to do with their time than make angry posts about bands they don’t like, I pity you.
I personally like Disturbed (though I don’t like Perfect Insanity). They do have songs that are repetitive and dull, and I don’t listen to those ones.
There are many bands that I don’t like, but I don’t spend my days blathering and trying to downgrade a group of people who have gone out and made millions by making music that some people DO like. Everyone has their own opinion of music. Save your time by posting good things about the bands you like and not attacking bands that others like, even if you don’t.

anyway im one of those people who only likes music that stand out from the crowd, that have that extra oomf or drum solo ora catchy guitar solo or whatever. when i see the new disturbed album id go and get only the best songs.

you shouldnt worry too much on how much a band sucks or how repetitive there music is because there the ones making millions, not you. and taking cheap shots at draiman’s circumcised penis is completely inappropriate but on the internet you can so what you like so i dont give a damn.

I sort of agree with Justin, but in only one way: I like their music. Everything else: not so much. Everyone has a right to their opinion whether good or bad. What the fuck? Who gives yall the right to bash a band when you dont listen to them? I wouldnt call a band that has 3 albums that are all single to triple platinum winning albums a sucky band. Get your heads out of your asses and do some damn research. Disturbed and Nickelback pop? God yall suck, go learn to read and look them up MORE CLOSELY. Im not a Nickelback fan but I dont go around bashing at them just because I dont listen to them. And Disturbed doesent recreate the same music or w/e in every album. The Sickness had alot of growls in it. Believe had less. And Ten Thousand Fists had some but not as much. Sickness and Believe had no solos, 10k fists had solos. Go to google and look up Disturbed in a search query. Im proud to say I preordered the limited edition of indestructible and I dont care what anyone says.

So just because you dont listen to a certain band, doesent mean they suck. And dont try to make people hate it if you hate it. You dont have a right to. If you dont like em, DONT LISTEN TO EM. And yeah yall dont have no solid evidence of your false opinions. Dont bash on something that you have no clue what it’s about.

I can’t believe you guys are wasting your time bashing on a band you don’t even listen to, what a bunch of god damn losers. Everything I’ve read on this blog is absolutely your opinion its not backed by any kind of solid evidence, and if you listen to ten thousand fists and their first two new singles “inside the fire” and “perfect insanity” they sound very little like their previous works. Very funny what Seth said about Nickleback and disturbed being pop music, get a fucking dictionary man. Sorry the fan base of disturbed doesn’t listen to complex music?? I would bet my money that the majority of you guys who have left posts on this topic, negative ones, just have it out for the majority because they are “conformists” or something right. Yep they got us, these millions of disturbed fans just Follow the trend…

I don’t see why people find the need to bash on Disturbed so much. Disturbed is one of my favorites. If you don’t like a band then don’t listen or pay any attention to them. If you haven’t noticed there are many many fans. So while you have a different taste of music, Disturbed fans have their own tastes in music. If you don’t like it just listen to whatever you like, but don’t go bashing on other bands just because you don’t like the way they sound

I don’t think disturbed or Nickelback are as bad as most people think they are on this site–they are both bands I once listened to complete albums of. That being said, i was younger at the time and just exposed to less music. Now that I have a great resource like metalsucks to inform me of new bands, Disturbed and Nickelback just arent high on my list of music to listen to because they are both generic bands that I’ve already heard. There is a reason why those bands appeal to casual music fans, while a band like Sikth or BTBAM or PTH appeal more to musicians and intense music fans. Complexity is only one element of quality music, but it is one element generally devoid from pop music–I would characterize both Disturbed and Nickelback as pop music. Although the Beatles were also pop music…so maybe I should say, MODERN pop music to distinguish.

The issue I have with a lot of opinions expressed here is the concept that unless music is “extreme” (not sure how that is exactly defined) it’s not worthy to listen to or somehow automatically qualifies as “sellout”. Or the idea that if a band writes music to reach a larger audience, thereby perpetuating their chosen profession, they are somehow doing a disservice to the music industry.

I didn’t earn a finance degree so that I could go somewhere and NOT earn a good living.

Also, liking Disturbed and Protest the Hero is not necessarily mutually exclusive.

@Seth: Yes, support your local music scene. Best thing you can do to keep the music alive, regardless of your tastes. Except for pop music, that is where they ALL start. Even Nickelback started off in shitty bars in Vancouver. (No, Sammy doesn’t like Nickelback.)
