ha! bleed is just chugging and chugging, how the fuck is that technical? and i have heard so many of the bands that are influenced by this band with better poly-rhythms and a lot more diversity in their sound. The only thing imo that Meshuggah brings to the table is a lot of chugging and poly-rhythms. The fact that people are always saying this band is so technical disgusts me, cuz anyone can make a poly-rhythm by just messing around with a riff, it's not fuckin rocket science. In fact, meshuggah have always been a one trick pony, creating poly-rhythm chugfests for people who want to mosh.

i'm just glad meshuggah finally combined their killer riffage with actual songwriting. the syncopation and polyrythms are incredible but technicality alone doesnt make a good song. plus the atonal effect laden solos are unbearable on every meshuggah record and sound exactly the same.

Bleed is quite possibly the greatest display of technicallity in a metal song. The drum performance is insane.

Meshuggah interview seemingly on the way - one lil tidbit for now: the drummer is the main lyricist...who knew? Friggity-fresh, y'all!!

This review reminds me a bit of the DEP review for "Ire Works"... Still doing what they do best, but making it more enjoyable for more people.

Which reminds me... Get an interview with these guys and ask about the writing process.

I haven't heard anything from this yet, but i listened to their old stuff and wasn't impressed.

In the words of Every Time I Die's Andy Williams "It's like watching a really big train go by".

This is a damn good album, one of their most cohesive works. I would say that it's their best album, as an album, since "Destroy, Erase, Improve." Don't get me wrong: I love the stuff in between, but the flow of this album has me hooked.
