SUMMER SLAUGHTER TOUR SLAUGHTERS SUMMER, YOU

Black Dahlia Murder

Thanks to MetalSucks reader Zack H. for pointing out our lack of coverage of the Summer Slaughter Tour, the lineup for which was announced earlier this week. The tour will tear through the U.S. in June and July, and seems to fill the role of the less commercial, more brutal traveling summer festival niche that Sounds of the Underground has filled in years past (as compared to the bigger, more commercial Ozzfest, and now Rockstar Mayhem Energy Tour). The lineup is:

The Black Dahlia Murder
Kataklysm
Vader
Cryptopsy
The Faceless
Despised Icon
Aborted
Born Of Osiris
Psycroptic
Whitechapel

All in all it’s shaping up to be a pretty fucking awesome summer for metal shows, no? Full list of tour dates after the jump.

Last year’s was so much better. In fact, there were only 3 bands on last year’s edition that I didn’t want to see, as opposed to this year’s edition, where there’s only 3 I would go see.

That being said, I have yet to see Aborted live, and I would love for that to happen.

  • Sammy

Whew! As the page was loading I just saw the headline and thought you were actually reporting on the summer tour of the band Slaughter.

  • Kye

Just saw The Black Dahlia Murder two days ago and they fucking rocked my face off.

The Faceless is pretty fucking intense too.

And I’ll be damned if I miss a chance to see Cryptopsy

Good to see an Aussie band on that list, Psycroptic are fucking awesome.

  • joe

indeed. i almost want to check out this tour if only to see my friends the haley brothers in action. everyone else, including crypt-hot-keyboardist can blow me. except kataklysm, and vader of course.

Last year’s set punches this one in the nuts. Sure, The Faceless are grand and all, but no Arsis? Count me out. And without Decapitated, it just won’t be the same. I see SumSlaught going the way of Ozzfest damn fast.

  • whoah yeah

    psycroptic will fuckin destroy all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dreamshards8

    Fuck yah for vader.
