KORPIKLAANI COME AS CLOSE TO TETRIS METAL AS YOU’LL EVER GET

“Metsämies” — the latest single from Finnish folk metallers Korpiklaani — does a damn fine job of sounding like the Tetris theme music in metal form without actually being the Tetris theme music in metal form. And just like said Tetris music, it’s sure to be stuck in your head for days at a time. Plus, these dudes look awesome — check out the video and tell me who wouldn’t want to throw back a few beers with these dudes.
Korpiklaani’s new album Korven Kuningas is scheduled for release on March 21, 2008 via Nuclear Blast Records.

ummm…Powergolve anyone?
I usually don’t like folk metal. I’ve heard the leak. Kuningas is AWESOME. been (kinda) singing for days “Kipumylly” and “Suden Jioku”. really great.
the Korven Kuningas Medley gets really close to the tetris song…
Haha, it really does sound like the Tetris theme, which is pretty metal in itself.
I’ve never really liked Korpiklaani though; they fall into the “drunken singalong” type of folk metal rather than the epic style I love, championed by Moonsorrow and Turisas.
this is pure sh*t
I don’t know about ‘throw back’ a few beers with them. I would definitely like to throw a few beers ‘at’ them.
This makes me feel like getting very drunk and annoying. More so than I was already feeling. I approve of the nonsensical video as well.
[...] It’s a good day to be a metalhead. Cavalera Conspiracy’s Inflikted, the long-awaited reunion of Max and Iggor Cavalera of Sepultura, finally comes out today, though it’s been on the Internet for months receiving critical acclaim (read Axl’s review). Firewind and Mercenary release a dual-shot of epic, European power-prog in the form of their new albums The Premonition (read Vince’s review) and Architect of Lies, respectively. Jucifer’s L-Autrichienne combines metal of, well, pretty much every sort for this excellent release (read Axl’s preview and Iann Robinson’s rave). Korpklaani’s folk-metal explosion Korven Kuningas also hits the shelves, which we can best describe as Tetris-metal. [...]
[...] about “folk-metal”, and I’ve been somewhat surprised that we could even place certain [shitty] bands under that genre heading. To me, any subgenre that uses the word folk in its description needs [...]

Seriously. go eat a dick. If you would’ve gone to Paganfest EU and got drunk like everybody else, you’d have a great time.
