In Flames - Mirror’s Truth EPSweden’s reigning kings of metal In Flames have a new EP out today — The Mirror’s Truth EP — which, of course, takes it’s name from the first single of their upcoming album A Sense of Purpose, due April 1. The EP features the title track in addition to 3 others; “Abnegation,” which was previously available on Bam Marger’a Viva La Bands: Vol. 2 compilation released Fall of 2007, and the previously unreleased tracks “Tilt” and “Eraser” which are not part of the track listing for A Sense of Purpose.

You can buy the 4-song EP on iTunes, or you can buy only the two unreleased tracks if you already have the others. Also be sure to check out the video for “The Mirror’s Truth.”

    The version of Abnegation is actually completely different than the one released earlier.

    Man A Sense of Purpose rocks

    The new version of “Abnegation” is not that good as the one from Viva La Bands, is sounds more nu-metal-ish.

    Koch records couldn’t sell a right arm to Rick Allen. Expect it to sell wood and get the band pissed off.

    I’m glad In Flames decided to add some melody back in their songs. After all…that IS what they’re known for. Nobody wants to hear these idiots try to make a metalcore album.

    I’d have to say this EP and the new album are probably the best things the band has done since Clayman. It’s not really great stuff though, just better than their last 3 albums.

    Oh and tell that dork “Dave” that the EP version of Abnegation is far better than the muddy demo-sounding loser-version they put on that stupid Bam album.

    This EP came out on March 5 (overseas) and I don’t think it’s that great. I’m glad they didn’t release these tracks (other than the title track) on A Sense of Purpose. Speaking of ASOP, friggin awesome album!

    Just got the full-album leak (with those bonus tracks) off the internet a few days ago and I’m liking it. Sure, its the more or less the same as the last few albums but damn is it a good listen.

    @Jimb:

    Dude, there’s no need for the insults, that’s just my point of view. Besides I’m saying the song is bad, I’m saying I prefer the older version.

    *Edit to my last post: Besides I’m NOT saying the song is bad, I’m saying I prefer the older version.
