TAKE A LEAK: SEVENDUST – CHAPTER VII: HOPE & SORROW

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 at 4:34pm by

Sevendust - Hope & SorrowSevendust’s seventh album — Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow — due for release April 1, has hit the leak wire. Down Mining has the album available for download; it features three guest appearances on three different songs — Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge, and Chris Daughtry of American Idol fame. This is the band who dropped off the mega-lineup of Rockstar Mayhem Energy Tour and joined forces with… wait for it… Saliva. Yes, the band who brought us such brain cell-killing duds greats as “Click, Click, Boom.” A little part of me just died inside.

It pains me to say these harsh words. This band has so much potential. Sigh.

These guys have to be up there on the list of worst-bands to come out of the nu-metal scene that are actually still releasing albums somehow. Who the hell still cares about Sevendust? Nu-metallers and friggin’ metalcore wussies, that’s who. Somebody just tell these guys to go the hell away already. They were useless back when they came out, and now they’re just laughable.

    Well said Jimb!

    YEA RIGHT, FAG!

My prediction: Sludgy, downtuned guitars; decent harmony vocals that still end up being boring; little or no lead guitar and only one solo (from Mark Tremonti); two standout songs which will just make the rest of the album that much more disappointing. And the highlight: the song with Tremonti and Kennedy (because they could play better guitar with three broken fingers each than anyone who has ever played their one-finger chords in 7dust).

This band needs to go away

Sevendust rock. They may have become popular during the nu-metal era but their sound is unique, and how many nu-metal bands have released seven albums, hmmm?

ill get flamed but i dont care. i like sevendust. i have for a long time. personally, i dont need music to be as fast, heavy, uncomprehendable for it to be good. i always liked how sevendust had some cool rhythms and decent vocals. don’t be a hater.

Haters rule. Sevendust on the other hand, do not.

Dropping of the Mayhem Tour was a bonehead play on their part.

Here we go again. I think it’s the hatin’ ass, thinking their somebody when they really aren’t, I have my head stuck up my ass type people that are the ones that need to go away. Ok, so we all have our own opinions on music don’t that don’t mean you have to bash the people that listen to Sevendust to make yourself feel better. To call this band laughable, I don’t think so. Sevendust continues to put out rockin’ music but oh, I forgot, if it isn’t death metal or some other form of uncomprehendable music that sounds like shit, it ain’t cool.

    TESTA FUCKIN’ MENT!

    Wow, what douche bags

    Why so much hating???
Reading shit like this really kills my mood

If you don’t like’em then go away
Theres no need to bash them because it ain’t your cup of tea.

By the way, there’s way more guitar work one this album and guess what ,IT AIN’T BAD

I do agree that they should have stayed on the Mayhem tour though….

fuck you jibs you dont know anything about music you dumb shit…

    sevendust rocks!!!!

Pat I’m not going to bash you but the guitar work is not as good without Clint, if you know anything about the band you know he wrote all the music from the previous albums, this album has its moments but not like animosity.
