I actually liked their earlier CDs, but when I saw them live (twice), that killed it for me. 1980s-era Scorpions synchronized body banging, weak vocals from both singers, and just way too many "this is what we think American metal is about" cliches for my taste. The second time I saw them all of the guys wore matching outfits that made them look like long-haired reject waiters from the Olive Garden. Sorry. My favorite female singer of all time and my favorite singer, performer, etc., however, is P.J. Harvey. @amy: Erm, sorry…I cannot get into Lacuna Coil. I dig it. As for female-fronted metal (etc.) bands, I like Nightwish, Otep, Arch Enemy, The Iron Maidens, Made Out of Babies, Lita Ford, Detente, and Bikini Kill. Plus, I hear good things about Within Temptation, To Mera, and After Forever, but have not had an opportunity to listen to them yet. @Factor: I did just that after SXSW and I have to say I was dead wrong about the album.
