SAY, WHAT THE HELL DID EVER HAPPEN TO CHUCK MOSELY?

chuck.jpgAfter briefly writing about pre-Mike Patton Faith No More singer Chuck Mosely earlier this month, I got to wondering: what the flying fuck ever happened to Mosely, anyways? I was purely curious, mind you; I’m sure there’s some nut case out there who only recognized Mosely as the one true front man for FNM, but I ain’t him. Still, there are songs from the Mosely years (Introduce Yourself and We Care A Lot) that I greatly enjoy, and it occurred to me that I never even knew, really, why Mosely had left the band (or had been fired from the band?).

So I did what any good American journalist would do, and headed over to Mosely’s Wikipedia page. Here’s the short version of Mosely’s life post-FNM…

“Chuck parted ways with FNM in 1988 for a number of reasons, including creative differences with his band members and rumors of substance abuse.

“In 1990 Mosely began a stint as lead singer in revered hardcore punk band, Bad Brains. He performed at nearly sixty shows in the United States and Europe before leaving the band in January of 1992.

“Mosely immediately went on to form a new band, Cement. They released two albums… During the first week of what was to be a year-long tour… the band’s driver fell asleep at the wheel causing a major accident. Chuck spent a year recovering from a broken back, the tour was canceled, and the album was, subsequently, shelved.

“Mosely relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in March of 1996. He has spent the last several years writing and compiling new material while raising his two daughters Sophie and Erica.”

Seriously? Chuck Mosely was in fucking Bad Brains? How the fucking fuck did I not know that?

ANYWAY, I can’t find any songs or videos for this band Cement, nor can I find any video or recordings of Mosely’s stint with Bad Brains; so since we already posted the video for the best Mosely-era FNM tune, “We Care a Lot,” here’s the video for Faith No Mosely’s “Anne’s Song,” and, just for shits n’ giggles, footage of Patton performing “We Care a Lot.”
