What a sad way for a talented singer, frontman, and one of the most influential men of late ’80s / early ’90s metal and grunge to go. Meditate on that as you listen to these tracks and smoke your Saturday afternoon bowl.

    Are you serious? Chill.

    A junkie simply means he was a drug addict, in particular, a heroin addict. I’m sure Layne himself would not have objected to being called a “junkie.” His songs often spoke of the hopelessness of his addiction, the constant call of the needle. Maybe just my interpretation, but tracks like “Down in a Hole,” “God Smack,” “JUNK Head,”….desperation and drug addiction are constant themes in AIC lyrics. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I struggle with same disease/addiction that Layne did, or because I myself have been called one many times, but I don’t automatically take “junkie” as such an insult or think of the word in such negative terms. At least to me, “junkie” doesn’t mean bad person, it doesn’t mean homeless, it doesn’t mean lowlife (although sometimes we do lowlife things), it just makes it clear someone is a heroin addict. And believe me, Layne was more than a “bit addicted.”

    untilll u’ve gone through the struggle and hopelessness of this god awful disease make no judgment someday someone u know or urself could be in it we dont ask for it we work our way into this diease not knowing its gonna take our pride our soul our self nobody grows up to say i think i”ll become a junkie a drunk a pill popin feen life is whats happening while were making other plans remeber layne and all our other friends that have died from a taking not giving disease had familys that love them very much so tread lightly whith the negative commets remember we chase MISPRINTED LIES
