As much as i never got into Snot as much as others i feel that there is no room for hacking (or simply labeling) nu metal. Not a fan of limp biskit but hey, they fill a gap that was there to be filled. I still think the song Absent was one of the most raw ball busting songs of its time and would have loved the chance to see Snot live. Maybe nu metal is aweful to you but you can blame that shit on Anthrax and Public Enemy and those bands broke ground when they did Bring the noise. I also think that heads and arses need to be seperated as before i went back to punk/hardcore and the ilk i listened to death and black metal, surprisingly… it gets old pretty damn fast like emo shit (yet i still classify AFI as one of the greatest bands)and the best bands still seem to be the ones that broke original ground.

Final comment: Hacid, Dobbs the dog was a beautiful creature that i would have ten of you sacrificed to have him back.

I kinda stumbled upon this while lookin up info on snot’s new shit comin out. Wow, bunch of little emo douches rippin on a band that would’ve schooled every piece of shit band out there, if they had been able to record their 2nd Cd. Just an FYI, the music on the STRAIT Up tribute was all music that was supposed to be on the 2nd CD, they just had other singers come in to pay tribute to THE MAN! I had the pleasure of seeing them live six months before he passed, and they came on right before muthafuckin SOULFLY! Lynn had more balls than all of you fuckers have combined. And yeah the dog did die, I’m glad you pathetic fucks got such a kick of that. Really sad when little nu-skool faggots such as yourselves decide to bash on a band that you probably never paid attention to. I was on their street team doin promoting for them, why do you think the name’s SnotCrew?! Snot crew we’re undisputed! Anyways, this just pissed me off, and i was actually gonna check out this site, but bag that, little emo faggots, go back to the store and buy some pants that you didn’t get in the little girls section. And damn I wish my lawn emo, so it would fucking cut itself.
Long live SNOT! and remember, when you’re crying yourself to sleep on your Avenged Sevenfold pillow that you got at Hot Topic, there was a band that didn’t give a fuck about being famous, didn’t give a fuck about the money, that there was a band that actually did it for the fucking fun of it! why else would they call themselves SNOT!

Anyways, Yes the tribute album sucked and they weren’t that good live (Vocally anyways) but that first album barreled through all the shitty buttrock blasted on the radio, like a gorilla at daycare.

Nothing at that time had that kind of intensity or diversity and you would be hard pressed to find many bands like that today.

Ok guys. I’m sorry that the new metal scene robbed bands like Poison and Warrant from making more albums. But no need to bitch and moan. I respect the that fact that you all have so much going in your lives, but can somehow find the time to bitch about a band whose singer can not even defend himself. But come one. Just like every scene of rock that sprouted, there was some good and bad.

I think we can all agree on that right?

But no, you guys are right. Baggy jeans are so much gayer than multi colored spandex. You guys must be happy as shit that tight jeans are back and style. Man, you guys passed that torch to the emo kids and they just ran with it, didn’t they? How proud you all must be.

To think, I actually found this article by accident. I was looking for concert information and found a little link at the bottom saying Snot may be getting back together and clicked on it probably for the same reason you all did, “dear god, I hope not”.

But I am so glad that I did click on this link, otherwise I would have missed the thoughts and opinions of all you way cool rocking metal “dudes”. Dudes, right? That’s what you call yourselves? I’m sure you are all wearing “totally non-gay” tight jeans, a jean or leather “possibly sleevless” jacket, long luxerious conditioned hair, an earing “on the hetero side, of course”, and all go home a make sweet sweet love to your imaginary girlfriends.

You may wear a sleeveless black Metal Mullisha t-shirt, and wear it with baggy grey shorts, black socks, etnies, and a backwards hat.

Hey I have tattoos too. I get it. And maybe even someday I will follow your lead and get stupid ass tattoos that mean nothing. I too want to get in a fight with my parents and talk about how life sucks and drive off in the car they bought you.

But again, I’m getting off my point. I don’t even listen to that music anymore, but it is nice to throw on some Snot and Deftones every once and awhile. (even though I wouldn’t classify either of these bands as new metal).

I am 28 years old and work for a music program that most of you probably have on your computer. You’re probaby listening to My Chemicle Romance or Avenged Sevenfold on it right now. I wear a tie to work, I wear a tie to work for gods sake. I am a father. I am also in a band that funny enough does not sound like them or even Snot.

But I took the time out of my day because you were bashing a man that I respected. And bashing him for dying in a car crash with his dog. Which is so classy by the way. Music is music fellas. I respect any man or woman who has gotten on a stage and shared a piece of themselves.

Now I’m sure this reply has gotten some of you amped up (Redbull is so awesome, right?) and you got your fingers all ready to reply. But, as I mentioned above, I stumbled across this by accident and am never going to check back here.

So if it makes you feel better, bash me right back. That’s the cool thing to do right? And in your own heads, you can even think that I do have the time to come back here and be so “burned” or “faced” by your response.

You guys are so cool…

But damn, this is getting really long and has drawn out more than I thought it would. I’m a pretty quick typer. But, I am so glad that I did stumble upon this place. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be aware that there is a grown man in 2008 named Axl Rosenberg.

I knew of ‘em, never really listened to ‘em, I think I got the tribute album “straight up” (right?) for christmas years ago, my boss at the record store I worked for ( cheap a$$hole ) gave it to me, never heard it though, think I traded it with some kid for A Perfect Cirlcle.

Anywho.

The delivery on that “cute dog” line up there was quite chukle-inducing.

Oh and Casey Chaos can have his moments.

i used to jam the shit outta this album too. the mellow tracks were very un-nu-metal, they kinda predated the nu-scene too. I do agree though that he had not died they probably would have gone on to make some horrible shift into rap-rock. plus Strait was such a nut he probly woulda turned into a snot wieland type frontman.
I think is was a great album, but agree with not reuniting, do something new not nu.
