this band is incredible. i have loved them since i first heard them on OurStage.com back in march. they are a killer band that writes killer music. why should it make a lick of difference how they dress? just because someone wears a colored shirt that actually fits them instead of your 2XL black SLAYER t-shirt, does that make them less “metal”?… i remember when “being metal” meant doing what YOU wanted, not conforming to the masses. times change, and so does fashion. feel free to stay where you are in the land that time forgot… does this mean you still have a mullet?

you know i can understand why people don’t like IWRESTLEDABEARONCE for their music, but to judge them based on appearance alone seems to be kind of missing the point entirely. journalists, artists, and GASP musicians follow trends. everybody on the fucking earth does. i wore those black plastic frames popular in 1999? no. but i had them anyway, i don’t give a fuck. i listened to thrash metal when limp bizkit was still enslaving 14 year old minds. i looked like roy orbison. i knew i wasn’t cool.

well anyway, the point of all this is that who gives a fuck how people dress. because you people find black curtain sized t-shirts sacrosanct is for your own neuroses. there’s nothing inherently metal about that at all. it just says you are too afraid to actually address people on their terms, and choose to present yourself as superficially “different.”

anyway, conforming to an image does not make you elite. it makes you seem weak minded, as easily susceptible to outside influence as the emo clowns you detest. that being said, i still wholeheartedly endorse showing appreciation for your favorite bands. just don’t be a slave to the metal aesthetic.

One thing I can’t stand though. They look and perform like a bunch of scene kids. There are a lot of bands out there that do the same shit and make alright music, but that shit’s just not for me.

I see why you like them. They do a lot of that weird finger tapping shit like Sikth. Definitely an interesting band. I might have to listen to them like 5 or 6 hundred more times before I can actually see something coming during on of their songs, but good for them. The “Tastes like Kevin Bacon” video was fuckin hilarious by the way.
