POLL: WILL THE NEW MOTLEY CRUE ALBUM SUCK?

Thursday, April 17th, 2008 at 10:28am by Vince Neilstein

Motley CrueSo the new Motley Crue album has a release date; Saints of Los Angeles (listen to the title track and first single at Motley’s MySpace and watch the video here) will hit the shelves on June 17th on the band’s own Motley Records. As expected, the band announced in a press conference yesterday that they will embark on a 40-date U.S. Amphitheater tour dubbed Cruefest, also featuring Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Trapt and Sixx A.M. Two of those bands make me puke; you decide which.

From what I can tell there was no mention of the rumors that Crue signed a $100-$150 million all-encompassing deal with touring giants Live Nation.

The new album is supposedly a concept piece following the same storyline as the band’s best-selling memoir The Dirt, a book which probably ranks among my Top 5 reads ever (seriously!). Will Sixx be able to strike lightning twice, having already released a concept album in 2007 about his own struggles with addiction, or is the new album just an excuse to tour that will suck and be completely irrelevant?

Will the new Motley Crue album be any good?

You need to add one more option. It’ll be the best Crue album since 1989’s Dr. Feelgood.

  2. Conor says:

WHERE HAVE ALL THE UMLAUTS GONE?

  3. rob says:

i don’t know if i’m going to keep coming to this site anymore..

the first week i came i was persuaded to stay by stories about converge, cave in, neurosis, and between the buried and me.. and now.. it seems to be all about the crüe, gnr, and poison..

  4. TedTedPoleyPoley says:

the 2nd & 3rd choice seem to be redundant to me, i think they’re one & the same :-P

  5. Doug says:

    Worst. Tour. Ever.

  6. SickSixSeth says:

I actually suffered a moment of nausea while looking at the advertisement for their current tour. Seriously.

It will most likely suck, look at the shit acts they are touring with. Their last good album was Dr. Feelgood, once we stepped into the crappy 90’s, the Crue conformed the the same garbage music trend as of alot of bands did. Thank God bands like DIO, W.A.S.P. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Twisted Sister, KISS, and Alice Cooper stayed True to Real Heavy Metal.

I think this album will be good.
Maybe not Dr. Feelgood, but a decent album.
SOLA is a great song, but i just hope that Vince can do it live, and not be drunk and slurr/forget his words…
other than that, i think it will be good.

    p.s.
why are you people looking up sites to knock off bands? that’s not exactly good logic…
By the way, motley crue did stay true, Kiss didn’t. sorry

The Crue Album SOLA is very good, regardless of what the haters say. People need to give it a listen first before they have an opinion.
Face Down In the Dirt, What’s It Gonna Take, Down at the Whisky, SOLA, Motherf*cker of the Year, Animal In Me, White Trash Circus and Goin Out Swingin are standouts.
The remaining 4 songs (Welcome to the Machine, Just Another Psycho, Chicks = Trouble and This Ain’t a Love Song) have their moments but are not that great.
Overall it’s their BEST album since Feelgood, and quality wise it’s better than Feelgood.
Motley’s best albums in order are: Shout At the Devil, Too Fast For Love, SOLA, Dr Feelgood, Girls Girls Girls, Theater of Pain, the OK..Generation Swine and the TERRIBLE New Tattoo.
People might not like this statement, but the Crue are back and they are relevant again.

I attend a Motley Crue concert last night and they are a bunch of washed out acid jeans! Plain and simple “THEY SUCK”! Come on now, satanic backdrop video in the background, an angel appearing to give a “BJ” to the devil, how 80’s. MOVE ON find a new venue. They need to retire and SHUT UP!! OD and DIE! ~crue sucks~
