NOW VINCE IS REALLY GONNA WANNA GO TO ROCKLAHOMA

Queensryche have announced that they’ll play their album Operation: Mindcrime in its entirety at this summer’s Rocklahoma festival. The album is generally revered as a classic amongst Queensryche fans such as our very own Vince Neilstein.
To be honest, I’ve never gotten that into Queensryche, mostly because there’s something intangible about Geoff Tate that makes me want to punch him in the vagina. But plenty of people, including Vince, have told me that I’m missing out in a big, big way.
So debate amongst yourselves: in terms of being an Event with a capital “E,” does Queensryche’s performing of this album in its entirety rival Metallica’s performance of the complete Master of Puppets? Or it roughly akin to Poison performing Look What the Cat Dragged In from start to finish?

why the hell is Queensryche playing this stupid festival? I’d pay to see them play Operation Mindcrime in its entirety if they went on tour with George Lynch opening or something.
oh and fuck Bret Michaels.
didn’t they already do this during the Empire tour?
I don’t care if a reunited Guns N Roses played this show, nothing could get me to spend a summer weekend in Oklahoma
wait a minute, isn’t chris degarmo still not in the band? i dunno how it’d ever feel like queensryche without him there. if it wasn’t a nonstop glam metal explosion i would almost be interested in this performance. still love operation mindcrime…suite sister mary is one haunting piece of music.
Queensryche is a great band, and Mindcrime is a classic album. But they’ve performed it in its entirety ad nauseum over the past half a decade. I don’t know that it qualifies as an event anymore. Anyone who has wanted to see them do this has had ample opportunity to do so.
It’s epic that they’re playing this, for sure. MoP just lacks the cohesion that O:MC boasts. Nice comparison but Metallica are a joke these days, sorry.
Master and Mindcrime have a lifetime exemption from ever being removed from any metalhead’s Desert Island 5.
um, yeah Queensryche please stop running O:M into the ground. That last live album was terrible — mix supervised by Tate, am i right? — and even as far back as Maiden’s Brave New World tour, they just couldn’t keep the intensity up. They’re sick of it too.
“The album is generally revered as a classic amongst Queensryche fans “…Ummmm….What other album could they “revere”???
Real metal heads of the 80’s new these guys were pussys in the Poison vein…nothings changed…
Suck…always have …always will
I love Mindcrime as much as the next Eighties Metal worshiper, but this isn’t Queensryche (not all the original members) and I’m tired of these imitators trying to relive the glory years, capitalizing on shit for which they weren’t responsible. Rage For Order and Mindcrime were legendary, but to bastardize them with other players some twenty years after the fact is nothing less than a pathetic cash grab. Fuck Queensryche. Fuck them right in the ear.
Saw them last summer, they sucked. Especially because Swashbuckle, Shadows Fall and Heaven & Hell played the same show. Lesbians dig Tate ’cause he’s a girl.
Bwaaahaaaaa!!!!
Bret Michaels in the ear….and lesbians loving Tate….
I love this shit!!!
Carry on….by all means!!!
Queensryche’s Operation: Mindcrime is an awesome LP. I would go & see them again. I would prefer if Chris DeGarmo would join the band on this tour. But I guess he’d rather fly Business Jet Planes instead.
Yes I’d pay to see QueensRyche’s Operation Tour a lot more than Metallica if they did Master of Puppets.. My reasoning is, I missed that tour and it is all one story. It’s a really great CD… Metallica seen them alot and they just keep getting worse through the years..
Sorry.. but James is trying way to hard….. Thank you for your time
