ted is a dewschebag. i have to wonder about the sincerity of a man who threatens he will “gut” and “gun rape” minorities and anyone who disagrees with his fanaticism, when the guy got himself out of going to vietnam by peeing his pants – LITERALLY PISSING IN HIS BVD’S IN FRONT OF THE DRAFT BOARD.nice trick ted and i bet you had laughs for years about that. now that ted is a political animal though, he wants you to kill and die for him again. I suspect much of his mouth flapping has to do with keeping his name on the front page – of something. ted always went for the lowest common denominator in his pitch and when it was all loin cloths, teen aged bimbos and rock n roll, i had some respect for the guy. not anymore.

I am a police officer in the third most dangerous city in the United States, Flint MI. I have noticed that alot of people involved with gun debates have no first hand experience. I have taken at least over a hundred guns off of the streets. I have yet seen a legal gun used in a homicide. This goes for the assault rifles as well. I have seen first hand good citizens stop crimes with legal handguns. I own several different guns. I think it would make my job alot easier if the law abiding citizen did carry a firearm. The assault rifles that I have seen are also no different then the average hunting rifle. They fire the same round at the same rate of fire. I am against gun control. I can say this even when this affects me more then the average citizen. As far as I’m concerned, Keep up the good work Ted.

I agree 100% that the Sean Bell incident was an absolute travesty. It was a tragedy in every sense of the word, and the case deserves greater and more widespread scrutiny, to put it mildly.

That being said, I can’t find any fault in what Ted says. As he states, sending two unarmed cops to respond to an armed robbery? Ludicrous. We live in a society where, like it or not, criminals have guns. Duly-appointed and appropriately trained law enforcement officials should at VERY least have access to the same resources as the criminals they face.

I live in Canada where gun control isn’t really a huge concern because we don’t feel the need to run around shooting each other. Please don’t get me wrong , I’m not saying that ALL Americans are gun-totin’ rednecks but theNuge and his ilk would be laughed out of Canada!
Maybe the Janes Addiction song “Ted Just Admit It” was really written for the Nuge – it sure fits his image!

I own a handgun as well as hunt and come from a family of policemen. No one needs a fucking assualt rifle! but when I go to work 3rd shift, 15 miles away, leaving my wife and 3 daughters home with my watch dog tied up in the back yard and hunting dogs penned up behind the garage there is no one going to get there fast enough to protect them if someone should dare break in. But the presence of my .38 special gives me a little more peace of mind as my wife works at a prison and is a tough country girl who will protect herself and our children if need be. If anyone remembers the movie Red Dawn: the first thing the invaders did was find out who had all of the guns to remove their resistance. Ted may be a knucklehead but sometimes the knuckleheads are right about a few things. I mean BONO annoys the shit out of most of us but alot of the shit he’s into is the right thing to do.

This is probably the moment this site jumps the shark for me and i stop reading. Nuge may be overzealous with the hunting and the guns, but i respect the right for law abiding citizens to bear arms.

I’m confused with your argument. you’re against cops having guns? yeah, that’ll go well.

The Sean Bell thing was a clusterfuck, no doubt, but it wasn’t a clear cut situation. Also the judge decided they were INNOCENT of any wrong doing.
