Scars on Broadway may not have the cloud or pull as you may think. Plus theres really no 'advance', the record is already done. All thats left is marketing (nothing to sneeze at though). I think they feel they can get onto more store shelves and digital outlets like this, plus they prob get more points on this deal than a standard contract. Im sure they looked at all their options well. Plus they would be associated with a ton of other UMG artists. Oh and Radiohead and NIN are 5x more popluar too.
