IS THIS TELEVISION COMMERCIAL FOR DEICIDE THE BEST OR WORST THING EVER?

Thursday, May 15th, 2008 at 12:09pm by Axl Rosenberg

Metal Injection posted the below British television spot for Till Death Do Us Part, Deicide’s latest (read my review here), and while some might think it reps a new low in marketing techniques, I think it’s pretty much the best t.v. ad I’ve ever seen for a metal album (and possibly just the best t.v. ad I’ve ever seen period). I mean, that old dude who says “Yes, I agree, this is their fastest and most brutal album yet?” PRICELESS.

  2. dayaside? love the accent, ha…….. I noticed the fan base seems to be realin’ in the old-timers… I wish my gramps could get down to some fuckin brutal tunes with me….. all in all, definately an amusing ad, wonder how many bpm deicide fit into that spot….I was gonna check out the album, but now I HAVE to… “oh, they got me, it’s working” damn advertisements

    The lines are so forced.

Absolutely awesome. Who ever did that commercial is downright brilliant.

Also – It’s a shame it’s limited to just England. Seeing that video by chance on the tube here in the US at 2:30 am would make my week.

Yeah, I dunno. I’m a little sick of the “this ad is so bad it’s supposed to mean we’re not trying even though we sat around for months to come up with this allegedly half-baked idea” movement in advertising.

That said, it was a TV spot for a death metal album. That means 10/10.
