GOD FORBID DEBUT NEW MUSIC LIVE

Monday, May 19th, 2008 at 4:59pm by Axl Rosenberg

So over the weekend our bastardly brothers over at Metal Injection posted some footage of everyone’s favorite New Jersey metal mammoths, God Forbid, playing a brand spankin’ new song live during a recent stop on their current “In Thrash We Trust” tour with Death Angel, Soilent Green, and Light this City (and sometimes Arsis). And while the audio quality is, admittedly, not the greatest thing ever, well, it’s a new song by God Forbid! Those dueling Doc n’ Dallas Coyle guitar solos alone make giving it a listen worth your time.

Is it weird that I’m more excited about the new God Forbid album than I am about the new Metallica album (or, for that matter, the new Anthrax album)?

You’re more excited because God Forbid’s is the only album that has any potential to be good.

“the audio quality is, admittedly, not the greatest thing ever”

Trying for a new dictionary definition of “understated”?

Death to cell phone video of rock concerts.

I’ve never seen them live before, and that was extremely boring.

Say what you want about me, but where’s the pit? The crowd was tepid at best.

I usually don’t see much of a pit when a band is playing a song no one has heard before, and I’ve seen this happen plenty of times.

And if you HAVE seen them live, you’d know that they are far from boring. No offense pimento but based on your statement you are merely talking out of your ass.

btw this song sounds pretty damn good. I’d like to hear a higher quality recording though. you cant really make it out good enough.

Metallica and Anthrax haven’t made an good album in 15 years so any band has a better chance at a good one. But given God Forbid is one of the best metal bands around I am really looking forward to it. can’t fuckin wait!
