One Way Mirror

One Way Mirror, a new metal supergroup featuring Guillaume Bideau (Mnemic), David and Franck Potvin (Lyzanxia), Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork) and Loic Colin (Scarve) have released some tunes on their MySpace page. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from this cast of characters, though I don’t mean that in a bad way — a big Gothenberg sound mixed with a more groovy, alt-metal feel. Truth be told, there is some element of American butt-rock in here too, but damn, these are some fucking good songs. In fact, these are some surprisingly really good songs.

One Way Mirror drops June 27 (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy), June 30 (Rest of Europe), and July 22nd (US) on Metal Blade Records.

Really, supergroup? I think in order to use that already overused term, you have to have members from at least two groups more than 800 people have heard of.

Mnemic and Soilwork. That’s two right? Maybe I miscounted.

I said more than 800 people. You’re one of a very small group.

You get my point, right? It’s called “hyperbole”.

Pretty boring stuff… But i guess that’s the one key element that all “supergroups” have in common.

I like all of these bands. they’re good stepping stones for those just getting into metal. I’ll check this out when I’m free, but it should be cool, Guillaume from Mnemic can sing pretty well from when ive seen em live!

I don’t like it… It’s boring, as Fritz! said. It sounds generic, and if music keeps on busting in this direction, we’ll have nu-metal again pretty soon. What say you?

I hate to damn musical groups, coz I wanna to break into the international scene too, but given my logic, I hope the tide washes them over soon.
