APPARENTLY THERE IS ALSO A GRINDCORE BAND WITH A PARROT ON VOCALS

Monday, June 2nd, 2008 at 4:20pm by Vince Neilstein

HatebeakThis morning I proclaimed my astonishment at the new levels of grindcore ridiculousness reached by Caninus, whose vocalists are in fact two pitbull terriers. Apparently I spoke too soon, because within minutes several of you were quick to point out that it does, in fact, get even more ridiculous; Hatebeak, an experimental grindcore three-piece, features a parrot on vocals.

But it doesn’t stop there. Hatebeak actually did a split record with Caninus, and according to MetalSucks commenter Gibbo, our fine feathered friend actually learned how to do those deep guttural vocals by imitating water going down a plughole. Sheer brilliance.

What’s next, kitty death metal? It must exist. Someone go find it and let us know!

  1. Everyday, a new low.

  2. Dave D says:

    Wow. Just wow.

  3. DeathMetalDave says:

Hey, at least parrots can learn words. That’s just a tad less ridiculous than dogs.

  4. Jim says:

There’s plenty of screaming cats on youtube to sample if someone wants to run with the idea.

  5. Kye says:

This is slightly cooler than Caninus due to the fact that the fucking bird actually learned to growl. That’s pretty impressive.

  6. bucketochicken says:

Just for these guys, tonight I’m going to buy a box of crackers and throw the entire thing into the trash without eating them. Fuck you, Polly.

  7. FleischBerg says:

    isnt that the hatebreed logo?

  8. lancelot200 says:

I knew about this a long time a go. Just like the band with the raccoons.

  9. Fightingmike says:

Hey, isnt that guy with the parrot on his shoulder the samples guy from Pig Destroyer?

  10. Gibbo says:

    Woo, name dropped. <3

In reference to Caninus, HOW THE FUCK CAN THEY HAVE LYRICS WITH THE SONGS ON THEIR MYSPACE?!

  12. manny says:

    wow…fuck these guys.

I have some great tapes of me taking a dry painful shit that I could use as vocals. I think I’ll start a band based on that concept.

Nevermind, I forgot that Otep already exists.

  13. Conor says:

    @manny NICE.

I always thought this guy had some killer vids, ones that come close to satisfying my fetish for convergence of lolcat and death metal cultures.

  14. CW says:

Yeah it is Blake from pig destroyer/daybreak/triac!
Got their 7″ a few years back, stupid but funny none the less.

  15. Emily says:

  16. Chris says:

Why are you guys late on everything? Hatebeak is excusable but Caninus is at least 6 years old.

  17. OConnor says:

Have they ever played a live show?

I mean i don’t really get the whole guttural taking a dump vibe the riffs were so bad that they pissed me off probably more than the bird.

  18. Noch says:

    Kitty fucking death metal…

the day this comes out,it will be a sad day for the international fucking scene.

It already takes some patience for a promoter to browse the web for actually RELEVANT content…the day I’ll see news on Blabbermouth about a fucking kitty-fronted band…I will lose all the remains.

But yeah on this website it comes across better since this is humorous in the first place.

These days reading this blog is more interesting than reading Blabbermouth xD
